Student Scheme: Free Stock Music for Media & Film Students

This scheme is for media and film students who want to use stock music in their study pieces but don’t have a budget to do so. Once your application is accepted you will have full access to my music, for free throughout the duration of your studies.

As a composer, I spend a lot of time working on my music and also spend a lot of money on hiring other composers to create music for the library. As such, free is always a balance between being altruistic and making a living.

Being able to help somebody progress is different from letting a company use music for free, and creating this scheme is something that has given me a great deal of satisfaction. Including our music in your projects will give you the edge and help you do really well with your course and media career. Just don’t forget about us when you are the next big film director 🙂

FAQs

What is the catch?

There is no catch, just a few limitations. You can use our Track Packs in your personal media projects and in any student projects. They can not be used in commercial projects.

Is the free music a cut-down version?

No. You get everything a paying customer gets, including the full track pack that contains the main track and all of the edits, such as loops and shorter versions. The audio is in broadcast standard format wave 48kHz 24bit.

What are the license terms and limitations?

You must abide by our General License Terms and understand what Royalty-Free Music is and how it can be used.

The music must be part of the media, not the main feature. This means that it must be combined with footage and other media content.

You cannot use the music in any commercial project. You cannot earn money from your media if it includes our free music. If you are a business or earning money from it, you need to see our other licenses.

You must provide attribution and it must include the name of our website and a full link when possible.

Can I share my code with friends and classmates?

No. They need to apply for their own code. Your code is attached to your licenses and your music downloads.

Can I share the music?

No, this is prohibited. Everybody must download the music from our website in their own name so that they have a valid license agreement. The music you have downloaded must only be used in your projects.

How can I thank you?

Including our website details is sufficient. However, if you want to help us in return, mentioning us online is very beneficial and it would be great if you consider us for your music licensing needs in your future career.

How does it work?

If you are eligible for this scheme we will provide you with a coupon code to access the music for free.

Step 1. Apply – We have a simple and short application. We want to know who is using the music and how it will be used.
Step 2. Get Your Code – If eligible for the scheme, we send you a coupon code. Just select the limited license option and apply the code at checkout. This will give you a 100% discount.
Step 3. Start Downloading – While your code is active, you can use it as often as you like to download any of the audio from our library.
